The heart of the ocean....not the one from Titanic lol
It's not very often that we get to take a genuine break from everything in life but that was the case for a full 24hrs the end of June. We went to visit my hubby's family in Oregon and our visit started with a full, wonderful day and night at the coast. Although I am in constant awe of the ocean and have a healthy fear of its power, I remain fascinated by its vastness. Looking out over the ocean is the one place my mind seems to always be clear and fully inspired. Although I don't want to live right by the ocean, I do love visiting them.
I like to sit on the beach and watch the waves or walk along the sand and let the smaller waves roll over my feet (although in Oregon sometimes that feels like a great way to get frostbite lol) it's just genuinely peaceful and calming to me. I feel like it reminds me to breathe and to enjoy every single moment. It reminds me that life is too short not to pursue what you love. It is the one place that I seem to forget all the things I still need to do and I just fully relax. And it was amazing to get to do that if even for a short time.
I also got to have two totally new experiences for me……
The first was the beach at night (total darkness) I could hear the ocean but couldn’t see it (that is terrifying lol) and the second was a campfire on the beach (that was amazingly fun and relaxing).
So if you can make time to just get away even if it’s for a day or an hour or a minuet (literally whatever you are able to do) to remind yourself you are worth it and take a deep breath in and exhale out all that stress and deadlines and screaming kids and exams and everything else going on in your life! Remember it goes by so fast make sure you actually live the important parts!
