Classical Traffic Dance
I have this weird and amusing thing I started doing…I used it as a way to stay calm behind the wheel when I had to commute two-plus hours each way (due to morning and rush hour traffic) to and from school.
I started listening to classical music and watching the cars at signals like they were dancing. My favorite (no surprise since I love Christmas) was using the Nutcracker soundtrack but honestly, I used all of it, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, etc. It all worked beautifully.
Since it seems a large portion of the population has forgotten all manners, rules, and respect on the road since 2020… I have gone back to my classical traffic dance to keep my sanity lol.
Sometimes I get amused and start to laugh, like when the cars going through the turn signal match exactly to the dance of the sugar plum fairy, or watching vehicles navigate Oklahoma's awful roads to the tune of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement lol. It just makes for a much more pleasant driving experience.
That is my way of managing stress on the road. I hope you all have one cuz it's crazy out here now lol.
P. S. Classical music also helps me stay focused on the road (or anything I need to focus on honestly) instead of staying distracted by my super busy brain.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!
