Thirty minutes of Christmas magic.....

As it goes with chronic illness, I didn’t get to do the fun fall stuff I was so looking forward to. So I was determined to enjoy something happy Christmas related outside.

I went to the local small town Christmas festival and enjoyed the cold weather, classic Christmas music and lights. I wasn't able to stay longer than thirty minutes before my body forced me home, but I had the best time while I was there.

Of course I've always been Christmas obsessed and watching the town festivals in Hallmark movies for years. I can confirm it’s not quite the same to be there in real life, especially when it’s the first year. I volunteered to help another town during their first event one year and that was pure chaos! People have no idea how much work, heart and passion goes into these events and often with very little appreciation. I still had the best time!

So I hope the town continues this tradition even if it wasn’t the turn out they hoped for. It takes time to build a tradition. But it’s a tradition worth building. And for happy Christmas kids like me who refuse to lose that magic in adulthood, it was perfect.

Here are some pics of my short little adventure. I pray it is the first of many. But right now I'm just thankful for those thirty beautiful and fun minutes before I was back to Hallmark movies with a quilt on the couch. I didn't make it until it was fully dark out, but the lights were still beautiful.

I hope you all have the best Christmas! And I hope you have some adventure, even if it’s just thirty minuets at a small town local festival with a whole lot of heart.
